Battling through war-scarred realms and worlds beyond, the DOOM Slayer will encounter a menagerie of imposing demons throughout DOOM: The Dark Ages’ epic campaign.

On top of deadly new beings to fight, several classic demons from the DOOM franchise return with new looks to match the dark fantasy setting. Check out some concept art from the talented team at id Software for a close-up look at a few fan-favorite demons you’ll stand and fight against in DOOM: The Dark Ages.

IMP STALKER

No frontline force in Hell is complete without this spiked menace; say hello to the Imp Stalker!

Concept artwork of the Imp Stalker featuring a reference of the Imp sprite from the classic DOOM games.

Pro Tip: When an Imp Stalker closes in, a telltale glow indicates its attack is a Hell Surge attack that can be parried. Reflect with a well-timed Shield Saw block to parry the attack, often leaving its perpetrator completely open to a deadly finishing blow!

MANCUBUS

If you’re familiar with previous franchise interpretations, you may already know that DOOM: The Dark Ages’ Mancubus is built big and tough like a truck, and it can hit like one too.

Pro Tip: Deal with this large, slow-moving target from afar, making sure to strafe from its projectiles. While the Mancubus can be an unmovable object, the Slayer is the ultimate unstoppable force.

ARACHNOTRON

The Arachnotron excels at range, dealing volleys of suppressing fire from its mounted cannon with impressive accuracy.

Pro Tip: The DOOM Slayer’s Shield Charge ability allows him to close distances to an unsuspecting demon with top speed and incredible impact, making it easier to squash this big-brained foe.

REVENANT

This eerie version of the skeletal Revenant can phase between its corporeal and ethereal form.

Concept artwork of the Revenant with details of its limbs and face.

Pro Tip: While in “ghost mode,” the Revenant is invulnerable to your attacks! (That is, unless its projectiles were reflected at it...)

CACODEMON

Featuring a host of tentacles and other hallmarks of the Cosmic Realm, the Cacodemon is a one-eyed terror of the skies.

Pro Tip: The Cacodemon may attempt aerial superiority but knowing how to duck and weave past its ranged volleys will keep the Slayer one step ahead of its attacks.

CYBERDEMON

With its razor-sharp swipes, massive frame and a high powered, arm-mounted cannon, the Cyberdemon commands the battlefield as a threat from any range.

Pro Tip: Concentrate fire until you can destroy its arm-mounted weapon and go for the finish! In other words, to defeat the Cyberdemon, shoot at it until it dies
