DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations Preview

DELVE DEEPER INTO THE DOOM UNIVERSE 

Battered, wounded and thrust into a frozen-over Hell for eternity, the DOOM Slayer must confront a different kind of demon – one from his past – to reclaim freedom and restore balance to the embattled realm of Argent D’nur. 

Journeying to the deepest, darkest core of Hell via the expansive hub of Purgatory, players explore a total of six vast new levels brimming with secret passages, collectibles, special encounters and more as they make their way through Revelations’ meaty campaign. 

SKEWER, SLASH & SOAR WITH THE CHAIN SPEAR 

To traverse the twisted landscape, the Slayer requires an addition to his arsenal: the vicious Chain Spear. Making pincushions out of foes at range, the Chain Spear also ‘reels in’ the Slayer at high speed for some up-close-and-personal treatment, offering new vectors for how players approach platforming and – you guessed it – combat. 

Like the Shield Saw, the versatile and upgradeable Chain Spear does much more than close distances between the Slayer and his targets. Pierce defenses with a precision throw, repel attacks with well-timed parries, shatter the earth below with a massive ground slam and even manipulate your mid-air trajectory to become an orbiting satellite of destruction! 

With his enhanced arsenal, alongside other new upgrades and abilities, the Slayer will also face fearsome new threats in Revelations. This includes the infernal sorceries of the Warlock, jousting fusions of demon and machine known as Buzzsaws and even the return of the iconic demons like the Archvile - casters of profane fire and summoning spells – and Cosmic Elemental, hives of suffering bearing uncanny resemblance to DOOM’s infamous one-eyed flying people-eaters, the Pain Elemental.

GO BEYOND THE EPILOGUE 

The fun isn’t over after completing DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations’ campaign, however. Upon victory, players can access new unexplored areas, gather missing collectibles, test their skill in Master Arenas and even pursue the expansion’s ultimate encounter... 

Adding even more endgame content, completion of Revelations’ Master Arenas also grants access to new maps, demons and fully upgraded weapons for Ripatorium 3.0, the latest version of DOOM: The Dark Ages’ customizable arena challenge mode.
