It’s Thanksgiving week here in the United States, and that means turkey season! As it turns out, DOOM and turkeys have common ground in the form of the world’s premier poultry-pummeling sim: Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3!

Originally an easter egg minigame in DOOM 3, Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 (or STTP3, as it’s known on Mars’ competitive play circuit) elevated the Turkey Puncher series to new heights with unparalleled gameplay and realistic turkey punching graphics. Members of the UAC working at Mars City would famously one-up each other’s STTP3 scores – so much so that racking up over 25,000 points nets you a stern email from the human resources department, insisting you better spend your time on the clock.

Fast-forward to DOOM (2016), where Turkey Puncher fans were surprised with the return of their favorite bird-based pugilistic pastime. Found in the corner of a warehouse in the Advanced Research Complex standing tall amongst a pile of defunct cabinets is a working Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3! Now even the DOOM Slayer can enjoy this arcade classic!

With its homage to classic DOOM assets, simple-yet-addicting gameplay and stylized title that street fighting aficionados can appreciate, Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 stands out as a unique contribution to the world of DOOM.
