How much storage is required on Nintendo Switch?
With the launch of DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part Two on August 26, all Nintendo Switch owners of DOOM Eternal or The Ancient Gods – Part One will need at least 29GB of storage available. Storage requirements may change
Is a Memory Card required to install the title?
A microSD card (sold separately) with free storage space of minimum 11 GB is required to download this game, plus 18 GB on the system memory. Storage requirements may change.
Can I keep playing DOOM Eternal without downloading the latest patch?
Yes, players with an existing install will be prompted to patch but can bypass this update and continue to access offline features, including the campaign. Access to online features such as BATTLEMODE will require players to install the patch
Why isn’t the DOOM Eternal patch installing?
If the Switch displays an error indicating that save data or media need to be archived to install the patch, cancel the patch install and restart it. The system will then correctly install the patch to the microSD card

Yes, BATTLEMODE (included in all versions of DOOM Eternal) is a 2 versus 1 multiplayer experience that pits a fully-armed DOOM Slayer against two player-controlled demons, fighting it out in a best-of-five round match of intense first-person combat
Does this update include any BATTLEMODE balance changes?
Yes, this update brings the Nintendo Switch BATTLEMODE balance up to date with the latest console balance changes found here.
Known Issues - The Ancient Gods - Part Two (Campaign)
- Issue: Rarely, the Tyrant fails to spawn in the Hanger arena of Immora, resulting in players being unable to complete the encounter
Resolution: Reload from last checkpoint to attempt to get the Tyrant to spawn in correctly. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update
- Issue: No weapon skin is highlighted when scrolling through skins on the weapons tab in the customization menu
Resolution: This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update
Known Issues - DOOM Eternal (Campaign)
- Issue: *ModBot – the Slayer animates for current equipped mod, not for what is acquired, then doesn't switch to new mod *
Resolution: This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update. In the interim, manually equip the new mod as a workaround
- Issue: Specific AI in Mars Core sometimes stop fighting each other and the Slayer after accessing the UAC transmission tower
Resolution: Kill all the AI and progress past the area. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update
- Issue: No weapon skin is highlighted when scrolling through skins on the weapons tab in the customization menu
Resolution: This can be resolved by holding down on the d-pad or left stick. This issue will be resolved in a future patch
Known Issues - BATTLEMODE
- Issue: VFX persist of a playable Demon when killed while under the effects of Team Heal
Resolution: This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update
- Issue: The Slayer can burn a Chainsaw pip when attempting to use the Chainsaw on a ledge-grabbing demon
Resolution: This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update
- Issue: The Revenant's lasers may persist in third person after firing a rocket barrage
Resolution: This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update
