We are happy to announce we’re now releasing the widescreen art featured in our re-releases of DOOM (1993) and DOOM II for use in other source ports. These graphics are in 21:9 aspect ratio, which include even more art than the 16:9 versions currently in the game! This art was created by community member Stephen Browning and we consider them excellent new additions to the classic artwork.

There are two versions of the widescreen graphics included: the ones in the base folder are pixel-for-pixel identical to the original 4:3 art assets with new art added on to the edges. In each game's folder, there are modified versions that change some of the original 4:3 art in order to clean up the widescreen transitions and some quirks that were present in the original art. These modified versions are what is used in the most recent updates.

We hope you all in the DOOM community enjoy these new assets! To learn more, check this link for additional details and terms of use.
