For the past five years QuakeCon has worked with various charity organizations in order to give back with the help of our communities. This year, we’re excited to be partnered with six incredible groups, all of which will have a presence on the show floor where people can show their support.
(Get the full rundown of other QuakeCon events, panels and activities here.)
The American Red Cross “Youngblood” Drive
The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at QuakeCon from July 26 through July 27, from 10am to 5pm in Fort Worth Rooms 1 and 2. Donate blood during the critical summer months by making an appointment online or signing up at the drive. Those who donate will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Wolfenstein: Youngblood-themed PC, sponsored by Corsair. Like Youngblood, cooperative play is encouraged! Partner with a buddy to give blood and you’ll both receive two raffle tickets.
1UpOnCancer is dedicated to providing direct financial assistance for adults undergoing cancer treatment. There will be a silent auction at booth #147, and there will be an ongoing Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter fundraising event. For every Vault Dweller that comes in the top 10 of a Nuclear Winter match at the Bethesda booth during QuakeCon, Bethesda will donate $76 to 1UpOnCancer, up to $10,000. Attendees can also stop by to contribute a charitable donation.
Anime for Humanity is an organization that has handed out therapy kits and mental health resources to more than 10,000 people to help reduce social isolation and challenge the stigma of mental health. Found at booth #154, Anime for Humanity will also be judging and co-sponsoring this year’s cosplay competition.
Stack Up brings both veterans and civilian supporters together through a shared love of gaming. Visit Stack Up at booth #149, where they’ll be raffling off items in support of their cause.
Gamers Outreach provides equipment, technology and software to help kids cope with treatment inside hospitals. Gamers Outreach will be holding a new and used console and game drive at booth #151 to support their hospital “GO Kart” (Gamers Outreach Kart), a portable, medical-grade gaming kiosk nurses can use to transport video games and entertainment to children who are unable to leave their hospital rooms. Put a smile on a child’s face with your lightly used games and consoles!
Dallas Pets Alive! is a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting and providing the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals. Stop by booth #139 and meet all of the adoptable dogs eager to find their forever homes. QuakeCon attendees who donate at least $15 to Dallas Pets Alive! will receive an exclusive shirt featuring dogs and cats in DOOM or RAGE gear. These shirts are also being sold online, with all proceeds going to Dallas Pets Alive!
Here's where you can get your shirts:
The Elder Scrolls Online will also be working with Dallas Pets Alive to sponsor three adoptable dogs, covering the adoption costs and providing a themed bandana, toy and profile for the pup, as well as a copy of ESO for their new human. Keep an eye on the @TESOnline Twitter for details.
In addition, a variety of popular streamers will be playing Bethesda games live from a dog pen on the show floor… with all the dogs up for adoption! Links to adoption pages will be provided for those looking to find a new furry friend, and stream viewers will be provided a link to where they can donate money to support Dallas Pets Alive!
