STEP INTO BATTLEMODE

In BATTLEMODE, a fully-loaded DOOM Slayer steps into the rings against two deadly demons in this exciting 2v1 multiplayer mode! Each round is decided in a clash between the Slayer’s skill and the demons’ cunning across expertly designed maps. The objective may be the same – destroy the other side – but the playstyles are entirely different.

THE SOLO SLAYER

As the Slayer in BATTLEMODE, you’ll use your entire kit of weapons, mods and equipment to take down the enemy team. Not only do you have all your gear, but movement abilities like dashing and vaulting from monkey bars are key to becoming a one-person pain train.

Just like in DOOM Eternal’s Campaign mode, aggressively seeking resources keeps you in the fight. Target fodder demons that spawn on the map and Glory Kill them for health, Chainsaw them for ammo or set them ablaze with the Flame Belch for armor!

THE DEMONIC DUO

Of course, the Slayer is only half of the equation. BATTLEMODE also offers multiple playable demons raring for combat – each with their own special style and strategy to master.

For example, the Revenant can jet across the battlefield and bombard the area with shoulder-mounted rockets, offering a balanced combination of offense and agility. Meanwhile, the Pain Elemental flies high above the arena for a tactical eye on the Slayer’s position and pressure from above. Need more firepower? The Mancubus’ damage-absorbing bulk and arm-mounted ordnance make short work of foes caught in its crosshairs.

In addition to their individual abilities, each demon in BATTLEMODE has skills they activate in the heat of battle to help corral the Slayer and set their team up for a kill. These abilities include placing deadly hazards on the map, summoning squads of AI-controlled demons or even denying the Slayer the ability to pick up resources for a brief – but pivotal – moment. Just keep an eye on your ability cooldowns to prevent the Slayer from catching you with your proverbial pants down instead of the other way around.

In these best-of-five fights to the finish, quick decision making, ample movement and smart use of resource gathering (or denial) can spell the difference between glorious victory or merciless gibbing. BRING ON THE HORDE

DOOM Eternal’s Horde Mode pits you against the armies of Hell in a breakneck, arcade-style single player challenge. Use speed, precision and just a sprinkle of style to rack up a high score, potentially earning you rewards or even a top spot in Horde Mode’s leaderboards.

The Slayer’s perks, runes and mods are all unlocked and upgraded during a Horde Mode run, but you’ll start armed with just the Combat Shotgun. As you battle through three levels teeming with foes, you’ll expand your arsenal and accrue points. Complete challenges and quickly dispatch bounty demons to max out your score and unlock new skins for DOOM Eternal, including the DOOM II Slayer and Biker Slayer!
